Can you tell us how you got into the scene and what would you credit as your first break?
I have always had passion for recording, but never took it really seriously till now. Got in the scenes through my booi big cakes who took me to a studio in hackney like a year ago. Ever since then I decided to take my music seriously and put out records. Before that I use to record tracks but it was amore of a personal thing.

What have you released to date and what would you say was your biggest achievement in Hip-Hop was?
To date it has to be the release of my debut single “Whats My Name”, released August 13th 2010. The video is on a number of Uk hiphop sites as well as youtube. The Single ia available to download on iTunes, amazon and all good online stores.
 
Let’s talk about your latest release. Who produced it and what guests are involved?
The beat for my latest release was produced my a producer in Stratford called VLM. The track was recorded @ Morphs studio in hackney. No features on this track as its my debut Single and I wanted it to be all about me as an artist and a chance for me to show the world my lyrical content and delivery skills.  I’m working on my debut album currently “Bangers n Cash” which is scheduled for release next year. I have some guests involved like Big cakes, a singer by the name of Tina Crowe and I’m hoping to get more artist involved with the project.

Being honest, what would you say are the stand out tracks?
Stand out tracks for me will be the entire album. Its called Banger n Cash so every track is a banger. Trust.

When is it released and where is the best place to buy it from?
When its released it will be available digitally online…iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Tesco and other good online stores. I’m also printing CDs for physical distribution to all good record shops all over the country. I got the distribution guys waiting for their piece.

Have you done any music videos for the project yet or do you plan too?
The music video to the debut Single is out now on youtube.com/skcrilla, subscribe to that channel. You can also find the video on my official website www.iamscrilla.com as well as any good hiphop sites in the uk.
It’s took a longtime for the UK to break the mainstream but now its finally happened and a lot more people are choosing homegrown music over American stuff. Why do you think this is?
I’m glad people are chosing to support home grown talent and artist such as myself. Its great for the scene and will help move it forward. People are chosing to support homegrown because the penny is starting to drop and the quality of music by home grown artists is getting better by the day.

For those that don’t know what record label are you currently on and who are your label-mates?
I’m under an Independent label Scrills Monetary Records (SMR). Its my own label which I’m still putting together. Outside this, I work with different producers to get different sounds and variation to my work

For most independent acts getting radio play is a nightmare, but have you had any radio play? If so what DJ’s and stations are supporting your sound?
Got a few djs suppporting my sound. Progress report had a few main streams station supporting like Dj Abrantee Choice Fm, Big Promo, Darren Benson Cambridge City Radio station, Woody (Choice Fm), VoKal(HHB radio)to mention a few.

How do you relax outside of music?
Mostly I spend time with family outside music. Family is real important to me and May be workout sometimes to keep fit, might jump on the xbox, love the Halo game series as well as C.O.D. Obviously catch up with a few friends. Life moves so quick so its good sometimes to stop and just observe everything around.
